The PaluWise project recently participated in an engaging webinar, “Innovative practices for a sustainable European agrisector” held on Tuesday, 8 July, 2025. Organised under the F6S Innovation Greentech umbrella, this synergistic event brought together several EU-funded projects to foster collaboration and showcase their innovative solutions for agricultural resilience across Europe.
PaluWise’s contribution to a sustainable agrisector
Päivi Merilä, PaluWise coordinator from Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke), represented the project, delivering a compelling presentation on how PaluWise is revolutionising degraded organic soils into climate-smart landscapes. Päivi detailed the project’s ambitious goals to cut greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and boost biodiversity through paludiculture at its European demonstration sites. She highlighted PaluWise’s clear aim for industrial-scale deployment of paludiculture, emphasising its vast potential to support the EU’s climate targets and biodiversity strategy, whilst simultaneously providing sustainable income for farmers and landowners.
Fostering green-synergies
Besides PaluWise’s participation, the webinar “Innovative practices for a sustainable European agrisector” provided a platform for networking and promoting diverse EU-funded green technologies and agri-food innovations:
-
INNO4CFIs (Giulia Berni, tech maturation lead): Focused on promoting reforestation for CO2 uptake, biodiversity, water security, and soil health, complemented by an acceleration programme for innovative SMEs.
-
NOSTRADAMUS (Ioannis Varvaris, project coordinator): Presented a scalable platform featuring open-source digital tools designed to provide real-time agricultural data, optimising operations and reducing resource use for farmers.
-
REGILIENCE (Anne-Florence Harpon, communication manager): Shared insights into supporting cities and regions in developing robust climate-resilient pathways, highlighting the vital connection to sustainable land use.
-
AgRimate (Leire Bastida, tech lead): Demonstrated how AI/AR robotics are revolutionising pruning practices, leading to greater efficiency and sustainability in agriculture.

Webinar attendees were not only able to connect directly with the project teams and ask questions but also discovered valuable Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP) opportunities through open calls from the NOSTRADAMUS and INNO4CFIs projects, providing tangible avenues for businesses to engage with green innovation.
PaluWise team was proud to be part of this synergy effort, bringing practical, impactful solutions for peatland restoration and sustainable agriculture. In our opinion, events like these are fundamental in creating the synergies needed to accelerate green innovation and achieve Europe’s ambitious climate and nature goals.
Until next time! 🌿
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
